Saxon released their sixteenth studio album, Lionheart, inspired by English King Richard The Lionheart. The album marked a return to the band’s heavy metal roots and featured the single “Beyond the Grave.” Other standout tracks include “Witchfinder General” and “Man and Machine.”
Lionheart is notable for being the only Saxon release to feature drummer Jorg Michael, adding a unique element to the band’s sound.
